Foood Department conduct

Agartala: May 18: The price of edible oil in the state is high. Before  the Corona Curfew the price of edible oil at will by some unscrupulous traders has already increased, the administration has not paid any attention to the market. Finally, the raid was conducted on the second day of the Corona Curfew by noon.

It may be mentioned that a delegation including Food Department officials Tapan Das, Binoy Bhushan Das and Subrata Saha raided the shop of M/S. Ashwini Kumar Pal, a wholesale trader of edible oil in the Central Road area of the capital at noon.Later, confronting the journalists, Tapan Das admitted the black market of unscrupulous traders and said that there were allegations of black market with mustard oil.Wholesalers are being informed to sell mustard oil at the right price during the epidemic. There are 104 days of edible oil stocks in the market. He also said that if any kind of black market is found in such operations, action will be taken against those unscrupulous traders according to the Disaster Management Act.

However, buyers have complained that the price of edible oil and mustard oil has gone up by Rs 70-85 per liter in the last one year.It was also seen on Tuesday that engine mustard oil is being sold at a wholesale price of Rs 185 in the market.

Asked about this to the minister of the department, he repeatedly said that the price of mustard oil is increasing across the country with various excuses. But the administration is constantly campaigning in the market to keep the prices normal in the state. the real picture is completely inconsistent with the statement of the minister of the concerned department Manoj Kanti Deb.

The announcement to provide edible oil through rations was made by Minister Manoj Kanti Dev at a function at the town hall two and a half years ago.It is a far cry to give edible oil cheaply. Officials in the department are not able to control the market.Consumers have not been getting lentil pulses in rations for the last few months. The price of pulses has been increasing in the markets in the same way.

On Tuesday, a delegation from the All Tripura Merchant Association visited various markets in the suburbs. There the members spoke with the leaders of the market committee. Sujit Roy, president of the All Tripura Merchant Association, urged to the people to stand by the low-profit business in this cowardly situation.
