UM Pratima Bhoumik arrived Agartala after 40 days.

Agartala: Aug 16: Union Minister Pratima Bhowmik arrived on state 40 days after being sworn in as a Union Minister. He was sworn in as Union Minister on July 7, she later became the Minister of State in the Union Ministry of Social Justice and Empowerment.

She was given a warm welcome at Agartala Airport on Monday. Just as she was greeted by the Bamutia Mandal, a wreath was also handed over to her by the state BJP and the Youth Front. After landing at the Birbikram Airport in Agartala, she first laid a wreath at the re-enacted statue of Maharaja Birbikram Kishore Manikya. “Prime Minister Narendra Modi has given respect to the people of the state. He has empowered women by giving a place in the Union Cabinet to MP from this state”, Bhoumik said. She further said he was uttering the name of the state while addressing the nation from Lalkella on Sunday.

Pratima Bhoumik said she would act as a bridge between Modi and the people of the state. She  called upon all to come forward to realize the dream of building a better Tripura. She later came to the BJP state office by jeep from the airport. Bhoumik was honored by various booth committees of the BJP by stopping his convoy at various places on the road.

Bhoumik handed over tricycles to two Divyangs while attending a function of Bharat Ratna Sangha. she said the central government was working alongside the backward people, especially the Divyangs. she went to Meher Kali Bari in Agartala and worshiped. She was later given a reception at the BJP state office. Speaking on the occasion, Union Minister Pratima Bhowmik said a forensic university is being set up in the state. Work on campus will begin soon, she said.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi is working to move the backward states of the Northeast forward. The Prime Minister has further enhanced the glory of the state. She  also wished blessings to all at the reception held at the BJP state office. BJP state president Dr Manik Saha and others were present in todays programme.
