10323 terminated teachers stages protest

Agartala: Aug 19:  Dismissed teachers staged a protest in the city center on Thursday evening demanding direct recruitment of 10,323 dismissed teachers in Group C and Group D. They claimed that when the Supreme Court sought information from the state government on the issue of sacked teachers, the state government had said that the sacked teachers would be directly appointed to Group C and Group D posts. But now it is seen that through JRBT, the government is forcing the sacked teachers to sit for exams with all the unemployed. Dismissed teachers strongly protested against this. Dismissed teachers were to be recruited directly without any open advertisement. But now that the government has decided to recruit through JRBT instead of directly recruit them , it is seen that many teachers are above 50 years of age. Therefore, the dismissed teacher Kamal Deb demanded not to appoint Group C and Group D posts through JRBT in the state. He demanded the immediate resignation of the JRBT chairman.

He also said that JRBT wants to take exams in English in the interest of boys and girls from outside the state without thinking about the children in the state and in such a role, he strongly condemned JRBT. He also said that there is constant terror on the dismissed teachers. It has been seen that three teachers named Biswajit Das and Chandan Das of Khowai, Bhola Bhowmik of Melaghar have been attacked recently. For this, the sacked teachers warned that if such terrorism continuing against the sacked teachers, then the sacked teachers will be forced to take to the streets in the coming days.
