Members of CARE tied rachis on the wrists of BSF Jawans
Agartala: Aug 21: Rakshabandhan, or tying Rakhi on the wrist of a brother, has always been a very sacred festival in India. The sentiment behind this beautiful ceremony is the same all over the country. Tied rakhi on the wrist of her brother as a symbol of her love and faith in him and he pledges that he will always protect her.
Like others, members of Cooperative for Assistance and Relief Everywhere (CARE) celebrates rakhi with BSF Jawans and Orphan childrens today. Sukanya Debbarma, President of Care, who tied rachis to the jawans said “ this activity made me realize the importance of the forces in our lives. They make us feel safe and this is one of the small ways to thank them.” CARE members tied rakhis on the wrists of the saviours of the nation and share sweets with each others at Lankamura BOP and Shalbagan BSF camp today.
Sukanya further said,” Armed forces protect our Country not only in times of war but also during crisis like floods and other natural calamities”. Sharing his experience, one of the jawan stated that not always they celebrates rakhi at home because they don’t get leave and are away from their homes. “ It was a great experience for every one to witness the special bond, the thread of love shared between the civilians and the armed forces”, he said.
CARE also celebrates rakhi with the orphans at Jawaharlal Neheru Balika Niwas today. They distributes gifts, sweets and hand made jewelries to them. After that they tied rachis on the wrist of TIPRA Motha chairman Pradyot Kishore Deb Barman and MP Rebati Tripura. Secretary Bindusmita Bhowmik, Treasurer Moumita Sutradhar, Vice president Sharmistha Bhattacharjee and joint Secretary Prantosh Chakraborty present in todays programme.
